Sanjay Gangwar ("we", "us", "the developer") built Aastro Widget as a daily horoscope widget app. This privacy policy explains what data the app uses, why it is used, and how you can contact us.

Aastro Widget is for personal reflection and entertainment. It is not financial, medical, legal, or professional advice.

Data You Provide

To personalize the daily horoscope, the app asks for your name, birth date, birth time, and birth place. This birth profile is stored locally on your device and sent to our backend at api.trei.dev so the app can generate and refresh your horoscope.

Authentication

Aastro Widget uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication. This creates an anonymous app account without asking for a password, phone number, or email address. The anonymous account ID is used to link your birth profile and daily horoscope data to your device session.

Data Stored on Your Device

  • Birth profile - name, birth date, birth time, and birth place.
  • Anonymous session - local user ID and app auth token.
  • Horoscope cache - the latest horoscope text and last refresh time used by the app and widget.

If you uninstall the app, this local data is removed by the operating system. Reinstalling creates a fresh anonymous session.

How Your Data Is Used

  • To create and update your daily horoscope.
  • To keep the widget and app showing the latest cached horoscope.
  • To support manual refresh and show the last refresh time.
  • To show ads to free users and verify Premium subscriptions that remove ads.
  • To troubleshoot app reliability and backend errors if you contact support.

We do not sell your personal data.

Permissions

  • Internet - required for anonymous authentication, saving your profile, and refreshing horoscope content.
  • Home screen widget access - used by Android to display and refresh the Aastro Widget home screen widget.

Third-Party Services

  • Firebase Anonymous Authentication - anonymous sign-in. Firebase Privacy.
  • Google AdMob - ads for the free tier. Google Privacy.
  • RevenueCat - subscription entitlement management and purchase status. RevenueCat Privacy.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play Billing - payment processing for optional Premium subscriptions.
  • Trei backend - profile storage and horoscope generation through api.trei.dev.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your anonymous profile and horoscope data are kept while the anonymous account is active. You can request deletion by emailing us from the contact address below. Inactive anonymous accounts may be removed during routine cleanup.

Children's Privacy

Aastro Widget is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

Data Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Local data is protected by the operating system's app sandbox. Backend access is tied to the anonymous app session token.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. Updates will be posted here with a revised "Last Updated" date.
