Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of Dekhbhal: Senior Citizen Phone, an Android app by Trei. By installing or using either half of the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Dekhbhal Is Not a Medical or Emergency Service
A reminder can be delayed or missed, and a Help alert can fail to arrive, for reasons outside our control: the phone is switched off, out of charge or out of network; the manufacturer's battery saver stopped the app; a permission was skipped or later revoked; or Android's own scheduling delayed the alarm. In an emergency, call the emergency services directly.
Both People Have to Agree
Dekhbhal may only be set up on a phone whose owner knows about it and agrees to it. The parent's phone shows a consent screen before anything is shared, shows a notification while sharing is on, and lets its owner stop sharing at any time. You must not install Dekhbhal on someone's phone without their knowledge, and you must not attempt to hide it from them. Doing so is a breach of these terms and we will end your access.
Dekhbhal is for adults. Both the family member and the parent must be 18 or over.
What You Are Responsible For
- The accuracy of what you set – medicines, doses, times, phone numbers and the allowed-caller list. We do not check them, and a wrong number or a wrong dose note is yours to correct.
- Keeping the pair code and the sharing PIN to yourself. A pair code is single-use and expires in fifteen minutes, but anyone holding a live one can pair.
- Using the app lawfully, and not to monitor, deceive or coerce anyone.
The Call Shield
The call shield silences or rejects calls from numbers that are not on the parent's allow-list. It is a filter, not a guarantee: a wanted call from a number nobody has listed can be stopped, and no filter catches every scam. The default level only silences unknown callers rather than rejecting them, for exactly this reason. Add the doctor, the chemist and anyone else who must get through.
Price
Dekhbhal is free, with no advertising and no in-app purchases. If that ever changes, it will be announced in the app and here before it takes effect, and existing functionality will not be taken away without notice.
Availability and Changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Dekhbhal, and we may stop providing the service. We will give reasonable notice in the app where we can. The app's home screen, medicine alarms and call shield are designed to keep working on the phone without a network, but features that depend on our servers – pairing, setup changes, alerts – need one.
Your Data
How Dekhbhal handles data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. You can delete your data from the app's settings or by writing to us.
Liability
Dekhbhal is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trei is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from a missed reminder, a delayed or undelivered alert, a call the shield stopped or let through, or a position fix that was inaccurate or absent. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. Updates are posted here with a new "Last Updated" date, and continuing to use the app means you accept them.
