Privacy Policy

Sanjay Gangwar ("we", "us", "the developer") built mDate, an inclusive dating app. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Sensitive data notice. Dating apps collect information about sexual orientation and intimate preferences. We handle such data with extra care and never sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose beyond matching and safety.

Data You Provide

Account — phone number or email, verified via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In.
Profile — name, age, date of birth, gender identity, sexual orientation, location (city), bio, interests, partner preferences.
Photos — profile photos you upload.
Messages — text messages exchanged with matches.

How Your Data Is Used

To show your profile to potential matches based on preferences.
To enable messaging between you and your matches.
To verify identity and reduce fake profiles.
For safety and moderation (reviewing reports, blocking).

Your profile is visible only to logged-in mDate users who meet your visibility preferences. It is never sold to advertisers or shared with external parties.

Permissions

INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — Required for all server communication.
CAMERA / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES — Upload profile photos.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Match and message notifications.
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — Optional. City-level match filtering.

Third-Party Services

Firebase Authentication + Firestore + Storage — auth, profile/message storage. Firebase Privacy.
Google AdMob — Free tier ads. Google Privacy.
Meta Audience Network — ad mediation fallback. Meta Privacy.
RevenueCat — subscription management. RevenueCat Privacy.

User-Generated Content and Safety

mDate provides blocking, reporting, and moderation tools as required by Play Store policy. Reports are reviewed and may lead to profile removal or account suspension.

Age Verification

mDate is restricted to users aged 18 and above. Accounts found to belong to underage users will be deleted.

Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app. Account deletion removes your profile, photos, and messages from our servers within 30 days (backups may retain data for up to 90 additional days).

Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Server-side data is encrypted at rest. Authentication is handled by Firebase.

Your Rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data by contacting us or directly from the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when new features are added. Any changes will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" date.
