1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing, signing in to, or using mDevices ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Use of the App
You agree to:
- Use the app only for its intended purpose — tracking and managing devices that you personally own and are authorized to track.
- Provide accurate information when creating your account.
- Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others.
- Only install the app and sign in to your account on devices that you own, or where the device's primary user has given you explicit consent to track.
- Not use the app to track, stalk, harass, or monitor any person without their knowledge and explicit consent.
- Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code.
- Not redistribute, sell, or sublicense the app.
- Not use the app for any unlawful purpose.
3. Account and Authentication
The app requires an account to use its features. You may sign in using email/password or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for all activity under your account, including every device signed into it. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately and sign out from all devices.
4. Location Tracking
The core function of mDevices is tracking the real-time GPS location of each device you have signed in to your account. By using the app and granting location permissions on a device, you understand and agree that:
- Precise GPS location (latitude, longitude, accuracy) is collected from that device approximately every 5 minutes.
- Location data is collected both when the app is in the foreground and in the background.
- Location data and history are transmitted to and stored on our servers.
- Location and location history are visible only to you on your mDevices dashboard. No other user can see your devices.
- The device battery level is also collected and shown on your dashboard.
- You can stop location tracking at any time by revoking location permissions in Android settings on that device or by removing the device from your account in the app.
5. Adding and Removing Devices
You add a device to your account by installing the app on that device and signing in with your credentials. You can remove a device from the dashboard at any time; removal immediately stops future location reporting from that device and revokes remote actions (ring, locate) from being delivered to it.
6. Remote Actions (Ring and Locate)
The app provides remote "Ring" and "Locate" actions that let you find a device that is misplaced. These are convenience features only. The developer does not guarantee delivery of remote actions, as they depend on network connectivity, device state, Android power-save policies, and push notification services. Do not rely on mDevices as your sole tool for recovering a lost or stolen device.
7. Consent and Responsible Use
You must only track devices that you personally own, or devices whose primary user has given their informed consent to be tracked. Installing mDevices on a device you do not own or signing another person's device into your account without their knowledge or consent may be illegal in your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the app complies with all applicable laws regarding device tracking and privacy.
8. Subscriptions and Payments
mDevices offers a Free tier (with ads) and a Premium tier (without ads). All features are available on both tiers; the only difference is the presence of advertisements.
- Premium subscriptions are processed through Google Play and managed via RevenueCat.
- Subscription pricing and billing cycles are displayed in the app before purchase.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription from Google Play Store > Subscriptions.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play per their refund policy.
9. Advertisements
Free-tier users will see advertisements served by Google AdMob and Facebook Audience Network. Ad content is determined by these third-party networks, and the developer is not responsible for the content of ads displayed. Your location data is never shared with ad networks. You may remove ads by subscribing to the Premium tier.
10. Data and Privacy
Your data is collected, stored, and used as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the app, you consent to the data practices described therein, including the collection, transmission, and storage of GPS location data from each of your devices. You may request deletion of your account and all server-side data (including all devices and location history) at any time by contacting us.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The developer does not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all devices. Location accuracy depends on each device's GPS hardware, network conditions, and Android system behavior. The developer does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of location data displayed in the app.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. This includes, but is not limited to, damages resulting from inaccurate location data, failed or delayed remote actions, data loss, service interruptions, or loss or theft of a device that mDevices was unable to recover.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, particularly if you use the app to track someone without their consent. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your server-side data (including all devices and location history) will be deleted within 30 days.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms when features change. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
