By downloading, installing, or using mFamily ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. License
mFamily is provided as a freemium application. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on your Android device for personal, non-commercial purposes.
2. Use of the App
You agree to:
- Use the app only for its intended purpose as a family location sharing and safety tool.
- Provide accurate information when creating your account.
- Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others.
- Only link family members who have consented to sharing their location with you.
- Not use the app to track, stalk, harass, or monitor any person without their knowledge and explicit consent.
- Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code.
- Not redistribute, sell, or sublicense the app.
- Not use the app for any unlawful purpose.
3. Account and Authentication
The app requires an account to use its features. You may sign in using email/password or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.
4. Location Tracking
The core function of mFamily is sharing your real-time GPS location with linked family members. By using the app and granting location permissions, you understand and agree that:
- Your precise GPS location (latitude, longitude, accuracy) is collected approximately every 5 minutes.
- Location data is collected both when the app is in the foreground and in the background.
- Your location and location history are transmitted to and stored on our servers.
- Your real-time location and location history are visible to all family members linked to your account.
- Your device battery level is also shared with linked family members.
- You can stop location sharing at any time by revoking location permissions in Android settings or unlinking family members in the app.
5. Family Linking
You can invite other users to join your family group by email. The invited person must explicitly accept the invitation before any data is shared. Both parties can unlink at any time from within the app. Unlinking immediately stops future location sharing between the two accounts.
6. SOS Alerts and Ring
The app provides an SOS alert feature that sends your current location to all linked family members, and a ring feature that allows family members to make your device ring remotely. These are convenience and safety features only. The developer does not guarantee delivery of SOS alerts, as they depend on network connectivity, device state, and push notification services. Do not rely on mFamily as your sole emergency communication tool. In case of a genuine emergency, always contact local emergency services directly.
7. Consent and Responsible Use
You must only link and track family members who have given their informed consent. Using the app to monitor someone without their knowledge or consent may be illegal in your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the app complies with all applicable laws regarding location tracking and privacy.
8. Subscriptions and Payments
mFamily offers a Free tier (with ads) and a Premium tier (without ads). All features are available on both tiers; the only difference is the presence of advertisements.
- Premium subscriptions are processed through Google Play and managed via RevenueCat.
- Subscription pricing and billing cycles are displayed in the app before purchase.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription from Google Play Store > Subscriptions.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play per their refund policy.
9. Advertisements
Free-tier users will see advertisements served by Google AdMob and Facebook Audience Network. Ad content is determined by these third-party networks, and the developer is not responsible for the content of ads displayed. Your location data is never shared with ad networks. You may remove ads by subscribing to the Premium tier.
10. Data and Privacy
Your data is collected, stored, and used as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the app, you consent to the data practices described therein, including the collection, transmission, and storage of your GPS location data. You may request deletion of your account and all server-side data (including all location history) at any time by contacting us.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The developer does not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all devices. Location accuracy depends on your device's GPS hardware, network conditions, and Android system behavior. The developer does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of location data displayed in the app.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. This includes, but is not limited to, damages resulting from inaccurate location data, failed SOS alert delivery, data loss, or service interruptions. The app is not a substitute for emergency services.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, particularly if you use the app to track someone without their consent. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your server-side data (including all location history) will be deleted within 30 days.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms when features change. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
