Privacy Policy

Sanjay Gangwar ("we", "us", "the developer") built mShadi, a community-focused matrimonial app. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

mShadi is a matchmaking service and therefore requires collecting and transmitting profile data to our servers at api.trei.dev so that other users can discover and connect with you.

Data You Provide

Account — phone number or email, verified via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In.
Profile — name, age, date of birth, gender, community, education, occupation, income range, location (city/state), religion, horoscope details (optional), partner preferences.
Photos — profile photos you upload.
Messages — text messages exchanged with matches.

How Your Data Is Used

To show your profile to potential matches based on preferences.
To enable messaging between you and your matches.
To verify your identity and reduce fake profiles.
To provide customer support when you report issues.

Your profile is visible only to logged-in mShadi users who meet your visibility preferences. It is never sold to advertisers or third parties.

Permissions

INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — Required for all server communication.
CAMERA / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES — Upload profile photos.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Match notifications and message alerts.
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — Optional. City-level match filtering.

Third-Party Services

Firebase Authentication + Firestore + Storage — account auth, profile data storage, photo storage. Firebase Privacy.
Google AdMob — Free tier ads. Google Privacy.
Meta Audience Network — ad mediation fallback. Meta Privacy.
RevenueCat — subscription management. RevenueCat Privacy.

User-Generated Content and Safety

mShadi enforces content moderation, blocking, and reporting tools as required for user-generated-content apps. You can block or report any user from their profile. Reported content is reviewed and may be removed. Accounts violating community guidelines may be suspended or terminated.

Children's Privacy

mShadi is restricted to users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account. If we discover an underage account, we will delete it.

Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen, or by emailing us. Account deletion removes your profile, photos, and messages from our servers within 30 days. Backups may retain data for up to 90 additional days.

Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Server-side data is encrypted at rest. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication.

Your Rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data by contacting us, or directly from the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when new features are added. Any changes will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" date.
