Privacy Policy

Sanjay Gangwar / Trei ("we", "us", "the developer") built SMS Forwarder as an Android app that lets you forward SMS messages received on your own phone to destinations you configure. This privacy policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.

The short version: SMS Forwarder processes SMS messages on your device. Message content is forwarded only to the destination you configure. Trei does not receive, store, sell, or read your SMS message content.

Data the App Uses

  • SMS message content - used on your device to decide whether a message should be forwarded and to send the forwarded message.
  • Sender phone number - used to format the forwarded message and show local forwarding history.
  • Destination number - the phone number you enter as the forwarding destination.
  • Forwarding settings - rules, enabled or paused state, and sensitive-message preference.
  • Local forwarding history - recent forwarding results stored on your device so you can review what happened.

SMS Permission

SMS access disclosure SMS Forwarder requests SMS permissions only to receive incoming SMS on your phone and send forwarded SMS to the destination you choose. The app does not import messages from other devices or phones where the app is not installed.

You can revoke SMS permissions at any time from Android system settings. If permissions are revoked, forwarding will stop until you grant them again.

Where Your Data Goes

SMS Forwarder does not send message content, sender numbers, destination numbers, forwarding rules, or forwarding history to Trei servers. Forwarding happens from your phone through Android SMS APIs and your mobile carrier.

Your mobile carrier may process forwarded SMS messages and may charge SMS or data fees according to your mobile plan.

Sensitive Messages

OTP, banking, password, and authorization messages can be sensitive. SMS Forwarder blocks sensitive-message forwarding by default. If you enable sensitive-message forwarding, you are responsible for choosing a trusted destination and understanding the risk.

Third-Party Services

The current app build does not use a server account system to store message content. Android and Google Play services may provide app installation, update, review, and platform security functions under their own policies.

Data Deletion

SMS Forwarder stores forwarding settings and history locally on your device. You can delete this data by deleting the filter, clearing the forwarding history, clearing app storage, or uninstalling the app.
