Known limits in this build
JobBot is an alpha. Screens and behaviour change between builds, and some applications will not finish.
- Software roles have had the most use. JobBot searches for the job titles you save, for any kind of role. Matching has had the most use on software roles so far.
- Apple silicon Macs only. There is no Intel, Windows or Linux build.
- Your Mac must stay on. JobBot runs on your Mac, so it stops when the Mac sleeps.
- Security checks stop it. JobBot stops at a CAPTCHA and does not try to solve it.
- Some job boards work better than others. See the notes below.
Job boards and how reliable each one is
JobBot works with eight job boards. These notes come from our own test runs on one account in early October 2026. The samples are small and your results will differ.
| Job board | What we see |
|---|---|
| Naukri | One of the two most tested. Most applications go through. Some stop at a question it has no answer for. |
| One of the two most tested. Easy Apply jobs. Not measured again since the send-once fix on 8 October. | |
| Hirist | Went well in our latest runs. |
| Indeed | Works in short sessions. Indeed shows a security check after about 10 applications, so JobBot rests it for 8 hours. |
| Glassdoor | Few runs so far. It shares Indeed's security check and often stops early. |
| Wellfound | Getting better. Few runs so far. |
| Weekday | Works, but Weekday lists few jobs and limits searches and applications each day. |
| Instahyre | Least settled. It applied to the wrong job in early October. The fix shipped on 8 October and has not been measured since. |
Release notes
Builds are numbered by date: year, month and day, then a build number.
Build 2026.1009.8749
- JobBot now searches and matches by the roles you save, for any kind of job, not only software. A saved role that is not one of the built-in kinds is matched against a job's title by its own words.
- What to search offers four ready-made role lists: Android and mobile developer, iOS developer, Backend and web developer, and AI engineer. Add one in a single press, then remove any role you do not want. Nothing is selected for you.
- Empty fields now show example text, such as "Add a role, for example Data analyst".
- Junior and intern titles are skipped unless a role you saved asks for them.
Build 2026.1009.8692
- JobBot now answers from your own details. Fill them in on the new Your details screen: name, contact, location, work, education, pay and notice period, skills and years, links, and common yes or no answers.
- Nothing is built in any more. A detail you leave empty gives no answer, so JobBot skips that job and lists the question on the Answers screen for you. It does not guess and does not ask the AI.
- The cities JobBot looks in come from Your details. List several, add Remote, or leave the list empty to look anywhere.
- A real run does not start until your name, email and phone are filled in. Previews are not held back.
- The first time you save Your details, AI-written answers saved earlier that you have not kept are held back from use. They stay on the Answers screen to check, and are used again once you keep them.
- Free plan: 5 submitted applications a day across all job sites. The count is kept on your Mac only and starts again at midnight, your local time. Preview runs are not limited.
- Scheduled automatic runs are part of Pro.
- When you use up the day's 5, JobBot offers a 15-day Pro trial with no card. It no longer starts when you first sign in. It is once per account and once per Mac. When it ends you are back on the free plan.
- Pro has no daily limit from us. Your own caps and the job sites' limits still apply.
- Home and the Account card show your plan and what is left today, such as how many free applications remain.
- Copy summary: turn on "Show a Copy summary button after a run" in Settings, under Share your results. After a run the button copies one line with counts only, such as how many applications were sent and how many skipped. It is off by default, names no companies, and sends nothing anywhere.
Build 2026.1008.8616
- The Answers screen always shows the latest saved answers, including ones written during a run.
- Subscribe opens the checkout with your sign-in email already filled in.
- The app now counts how many copies are in use each day, with a random ID and nothing about your applications.
Build 2026.1008.8551
- Your resume is uploaded again before a run on Naukri and LinkedIn, and the old copy is replaced. You can switch this off in What to search.
- Each application is sent once. JobBot checks it is on the right job before it sends.
- A timed run and a run you start yourself no longer overlap. The app says which one is running.
- The activity log gives a clearer reason when a job site ends an application itself.
- If you sign in on another Mac, the first Mac is signed out.
- An ended subscription and an ended trial now show different messages.
- No more empty browser tabs left open when a run starts.
Build 2026.1005.8237
- Indeed and Glassdoor are paced: one short session every 8 hours, with at most 10 applications across the two. Home shows when they are resting.
- Glassdoor stops at the first security check.
- The Answers screen lists skills that forms asked about and your resume does not mention. JobBot never edits your resume.
- A job that is waiting for your answer is skipped until you answer. It is no longer reopened on every run.
- LinkedIn applies once per job, even when the same job is listed more than once.
- LinkedIn questions with several boxes are filled in. Optional questions on Hirist are handled.
Some of these may have reached you with the 8 October build.
Build 2026.1004.7982
- Instahyre: JobBot refuses to apply when the open job names a different company from the one it chose.
- Naukri: a good job is no longer rejected over one passing word in its description.
- Wellfound: JobBot picks the right Apply button and reads the form behind it.
Build 2026.1003.7814
- New design with six screens: Home, Job sites, What to search, Answers, Activity and Settings.
- Home and Activity show your latest run after you restart the app.
- Fixed false "sign in" and "security check" stops that had blocked runs.
- Fixed salaries that were read wrongly from listings.
- Hirist screening forms are answered. Instahyre's renamed Apply button is handled.
Earlier builds
August and September 2026
- Runs are paced like a person, with pauses between steps.
- Auto apply on a timer you set in Settings.
- Choose which browser JobBot opens: Chrome, Edge, Brave or Chromium.
- AI answers through OpenRouter with your own key, beside local models through Ollama.
- Wellfound, Weekday and Hirist added.
- A run stops when a job site says you have reached its daily limit.
- You can stop a run at any time. It never stops in the middle of an application.
- Sign in to the app, with a free trial and a subscription.
How it differs from a Selenium script
Free scripts on GitHub do a similar job, and for a developer they are a fair choice. These are the differences.
- A real browser window, signed in by you. JobBot opens Chrome, Edge, Brave or Chromium on your Mac, with a profile kept for JobBot. You sign in to each job board there once. JobBot never asks for a job board password.
- It skips when it has no answer. JobBot answers from the details you fill in and the answers you save. If a form asks something it has no answer for, it drops that job and lists the question on the Answers screen for you.
- Limits you set. Job titles to search, a lowest salary, how old a listing may be, and a cap on applications per job title. Runs are paced like a person.
- An app, not code. You install it and press Start. When a job board changes its pages, the fix comes as a new build.
What a script does better: it is free, you can read and change the code, and it runs on Windows and Linux. JobBot has a free plan of 5 applications a day, Pro is paid, the code is closed, and it runs only on a Mac.
