Where JobBot loses
- Mac only. It needs a Mac with Apple silicon. Most job seekers in India use Windows, and a tool that runs in the cloud is not tied to a Mac.
- Your Mac must stay on. JobBot runs on your Mac, so it stops when the Mac sleeps. A cloud tool keeps applying with your laptop closed.
- No resume tailoring. JobBot sends the resume you give it. Several rivals rewrite your resume or write a cover letter for each job.
- A small free plan. You get 5 applications a day, the same as ApplyCove's free tier, and no scheduled runs. More than that needs Pro.
- It is an alpha. Screens change between builds and some job boards work better than others. The known limits are listed with the release notes.
- No numbers to show. We publish no interview or offer counts, because we have none we can stand behind.
Where JobBot is different
- Your logins stay on your Mac. You sign in to each job board yourself, in a browser window on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded to us.
- It answers from your details and skips when it has none. JobBot uses the details you fill in and the answers you save. Nothing is built in. If a form asks something it has no answer for, it drops that job and shows you the question.
- We do not count your applications. The free plan's 5 a day is counted on your Mac only. Pro has no daily limit from us, so there is no monthly allowance to run out of. The caps are the ones you set and the ones the job boards set.
- You are not locked in. The monthly plan can be cancelled at any time.
Which one fits you
- You are on Windows, or you want it to run with your laptop closed: pick a cloud tool.
- You want your resume rewritten for each job: pick a tool that tailors resumes.
- You write code and want it free: a GitHub script will do, and you fix it when a job board changes.
- You have a Mac and do not want to upload your logins: JobBot is built for that.
